Hot off the press is this illustration for CNBC Magazine on business schools and their increasing flexibility/changing teaching methods of the executive courses.

It's always nice to see your working in it's finished state as it's not always possible, so I thought I'd share a little of that happiness with you.... Here's my very recent 'Air Passenger Rights' work for Apex Magazine!
Digital Arts Magazine - Illustration Tips
Earlier this year Digital Arts asked me to contribute to their Illustration Tips article looking at hand drawn and painted projects, while unfortunately I didn't get chance to see the magazine in person here is a taster of said article online - http://www.digitalartsonline.co.uk/tutorials/?featureID=3339858. Recent feature illustrations for APEX magazine on new laws brought in to protect the rights of airline passengers, but unfortunately they don't come without their own teething problems.

Radio Times - 'An American Rose'
My latest illustration for the Radio Times is for the play preview of An American Rose.
The play is about the true story of Rosemary Kennedy, sister of President JFK. Whose behaviour lead the family into making her endure a (failed) lobotomy at 23 and resulting in her spending the rest of her days in care!

AOI Images 36
Happy New Year everyone! Hope you all had a great Christmas and enjoyed whatever time off you had!
First post of the year and it's good news as my Octo illustration has been selected for The Association Of Illustrators (AOI) Images 36 'Best of British contemporary illustration'.
I entered the image in the self promotion section as it was created (and is still available here) as a free downloadable IPad wallpaper.
It's the 3rd year running I've been lucky enough to had work selected so stay tuned for more info on the exhibition dates and annual release.

TS Today - 'Lapland'
Merry Christmas everyone! With mere days to go till we all eat, drink and be merry here's my recent cover illustration for the lovely folks at TS Today.
I'm sure you all remember the truly awful Lapland 'theme park' that was all over the press a while back, well... Trading Standards had their pretty watertight court case against them thrown out due to a texting juror!
Unfortunately I haven't got hold of the magazine yet so can't show you the illustration in situation but check back soon and I'll update this post when I do!
Enjoy the festivities and I'll see you in 2012!

Digital Arts - 'Masterclass'

Feels crazy to say it but it's almost November! But it's not all bad as in this months Digital Arts magazine I was commissioned to produce a 'Masterclass' (their words not mine...) tutorial for my illustration the Donor Trail.
Now the Donor Trail illustration has been a busy illo and was seen by the Digital Arts editor, Neil Bennett, at the AOI Images 35 exhibition.
It was a interesting job, having to really thinking about my process in creating illustrations and getting it down on paper. The way I work is by no means perfect and it's a constantly evolving thing but hopefully it'll be useful and maybe insightful to someone out there!

AOI Images 35 - Exhibition and Book

I'm a little late in posting this but it was the Association Of Illustrators Images 35 exhibition/annual launch on the 25th of August.
My Donor Trail image for the Radio Times was selected by the panel of judges and as always it's great to be a part of such a fantastic collection of illustration. It's a real buzz for me to have my work seen aside illustrators I used to look up to when looking at the annuals way back at University!
The show was at the Bankside Gallery on London's Southbank and ran until the 5th September so I hope you got chance to have a look round.
If your interested in getting your hands on the annual check out theaoi.com for further details.

Libya

The conflict in Libya has been all over the news with the what looks like the fall of Gaddafi's regime. One image that stood out for me was the statue of the golden hand crushing a American plane in Tripoli with rebels around it. So thought I'd have a little play with the imagery and this is the outcome.

Le Tour 2011

Bit of personnel work inspired by the recent Tour de France and specifically the individual time trial - Man Vs the clock. Lonely and painfully raw cycling at it's best.

Community Care - Front Cover

The gist of the article is that the proposed coalition reforms are going to hit the learning disabled. Missing out on foster care for example and ending up in less supportive large hospitals/homes.
The illustration was also used alongside the article. (below)

Trading Standards - 'Penny Pinching'

Just received a copy of the latest Trading Standards magazine which features my illustration on it it's cover and you'll also find the same illustration within the magazine too!
It was a great job to get and I'm really pleased with the outcome. An image of austere Britain today and impending cuts are a really juicy subject to illustrate and I had a lot of fun doing so.
Enjoy!
